Been preping the sheetmetal for paint on the Case 831C. Lifting the fuel tank was easy, just wrap a ratchet strap around it and lift it off with cherry picker. I'm not about to just put the strap around the tank with fresh paint on it when reinstalling it, so I spent a half hr., and built this simple Tee rail from 1"OD pipe and welded a lifting eye to a peice 1"ID pipe and put two clamps to keep it from sliding after balancing it.Had some old light chain to fasten on the pipe with S hooks and then hook into the holes in the tank flanges. No buggered up paint when tank is installed back on tractor. I will lay it away with other stands and lifting brackets that I have made to use on future projects. Tank still has fuel up to the flang in it. No need to drain it. Loren
