If I where you I would find some people in your area that own a few tractor then learn what you can that way before even thinking about buying one. Also check around as to what tractor dealers are in the area. Go with one that you have good dealer support or you can end up having to drink 50 miles or more just for a simple part. My self I would be looking at Craig's list a lot and also do some eye balling at the dealers. I will not give you any tractors as such but I will say stay away from the JD-1010 or 2010 they are JDs problem tractors and parts are sky high. Even some of the newer compact tractor maybe good. The picture is what happens to people that are new to tractors and a tractor will not forgive you if you make a mistake That all said I have at least one of all the common tractor on my place
