The best I have to offer is to stop the contamination first, then wait. expanded rubber/synthetic can return to its original size, but the use of other substances is not usually successful. Rubber is actually quite porous, and small molicules like hydrocarbons, penetrate into the substance and volume of the material. Getting it out is difficult but heating it beyond the range of its usable temp will melt the seal, not remove the chemical contaminant. My suggestion is to let it be for a month, if no change, replacing the rubber may be the only repair. Jim
