If that happened all of the irrigated ground in the basin states would return to non-productive "waste' land including California's Imperial Valley which supplies the country with the bulk of it's fruit and vegetables and Mexico would prosper on that water - What you suggest sounds good to those that are not dependent on irrigation but non-irrigated lands in the U.S. could not supply the country's demands. - If everyone that waters their lawns to make them green would remove 1/2 of their lawn the problem would be solved UNTIL unchecked population growth catches up and then we would be right back where we are now: not enough water for too many people. 8)

Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
