Your comments are certainly accurate. I simply went off in a direction pertaining to dams and situations I have seen in my lifetime, in a particular area where I have spent a great many years of my life, and have gotten to know some older people who share my concerns about a specific, local situation. What I noted involves control of a body of water, the elevation set by the dam in place, and its control by a bunch of wealthy elitists who live 3, 4, 5, or more hours away, only to control that body of water for their fall, weekend recreation. Their motives for maintaining this dam, artificially holding water levels 4 feet higher than what would naturally occur, holds water quality as a "hostage," and those who live and derive a living off the land in this watershed are negatively impacted as a result. The body of water is now a "dead sea." There is an expression - "Whatever floats your boat," is certainly at play in this situation.
