We get the same kind of thing here ,every few months , some rep. from a feed company will happen in . All promising that the phoo-phoo dust that they can add to your feed will make more money. And it will make more money , for them ! I always try to be polite , and listen for a while , then I just tell them strait out , if I wanted what they are selling , I would already have it. There are new things that come along from time to time , but after 35 years of milking cows I have learned that the best money you can spend on feeding cows is to grow/provide the best forage possible, then balance the minerals and proteins to make up for any short falls in your forage, good genetics, and healthy cows will do the rest. The job of a salesman is to sell, it is the buyers task to determine whether or not their product is worthy of your consideration. The feed salesman can make bold promises, and sometimes be misleading , but cows are brutally honest.
