Reduce their monthly charge? No they didn't. They did add a couple of channels that air oldies and some other halfway decent stuff, though. I have my complaints about DISH network, but one thing you have to give them credit for is that they are pretty hard nosed when it comes to what some channels think they are worth and what the DISH management is going to pay.
If I were to hazard a guess, WGN has some behind the scenes problems. They canceled their contract with the White Sox a year or two ago and this hullabalou with Dish over what Dish was willing to pay indicates to me they are in real financial trouble.
