Part of my late father-in-law's estate. Old hay wagon built on chassis from some automotive application. Have no idea what, or when. Actually, when I got rid of all the old wood superstructure, it looked like it would have made a good frame for a home built roadster. Would appear that it might have been assembled during war time, when materials were hard to come by, and they made do with what they had or could assemble. Spoked front wheels look like they were blacksmithed, and hub says Hudson on it. Rear wheel cover, I don't recognize the logo on it. Fast forward to now. Wood was all dry rotted, and basically, the wagon was beyond hope.
Removed all the old wood, started from frame up, designed new frame, and built new decking out of oak purchased from local Amish sawmill. Finished today - be baling tomorrow, or Wednesday for sure. All underpinnings are treated lumber. Probably should outlast me. Rear endgate was a spare front endgate off a wagon I built a few years back. So need to probably build an nice new one for this wagon, but this will get it done for now.

This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
