Can also add to this. If you are in North Jersey and further north you can run out to your local Horse corn field. Look for ears that have the tassle going from tan to brown and still show just a touch of green at the ear. Pick one and strip it. Take a bite. If it is still sweet and the kernels will be a little on the small side. Take a bunch home and have dinner! It is only for a couple of days that you can eat field corn. Larger ears and just a tiny taste like Fretos corn chips. Give it a try. Had a couple about three days ago down here in south jersey and it was pretty good!
