I'm just south of the Mo line. I have a lot of it too, it can be controlled by grazing it heavily or spraying it depending on what your wanting to keep. The pros are that it grows just about everywhere in just about any soil. I can produce a lot of forage and cattle like it. The cons, it can be poisonous under the right conditions. It can have prusic acid that is fatal to cattle. The acid dissipates if cut for hay. If fertilized it can also have a nitrate buildup that stays with the hay and should be checked before feeding to cattle. Personally I try to kill it out but living on a river that is impossible. I've never had a problem with it but I try to keep it grazed down.
