Real mechanic was a big hit : The theory is that the standard tread tractors had a lower ratio ring & pinion than the row crop tractors to provide similar groundspeeds with the smaller rear rubber. Installing the W's R&P in an M will give faster speeds in a given gear than the stock parts. Before you go for the change, verify that the parts in question are indeed different between models, and the swap will provide desired changes in wheelspeed. I would suggest that unless you are running substantially more HP than stock, gearing won't help much. Hey!! Sounds like we have a real answer to a real question. Congratulations to all.
