This forum is a fantastic wealth of knowledge. Several wks ago someone posted trying to weld a nut to a frozen twisted off stud to remove it but couldn't get penetration into the stud and it kept breaking off. Someone else responded and said to weld a washer to the stud first for better penetration then weld the nut to the washer. Well I had been trying to weld a nut to a broken muffler stud on my Grand sons motorcycle engine and having the same poor results. So this morning I tried the washer trick and bingo out it came. I wish I knew who gave that great advice so I could thank them but perhaps they will see this and get some satisfaction that they were able to help someone they don't even know. Thanks Don
