All of the starter buttons made in the "Land of All Right" are junk. I put a new one that came in a Standard Ignition brand box work twice and fried. I had to really search to find a US made starter button and it works great. If the starter drive was stuck and you continued to push on the starter button you have certainly fried the starter button. You have also fried the battery connection inside the starter. The stud on the starter is only soldered to the field connection inside the starter. With all of current that was flowing, I bet it now has a broken connection in the starter. Don't ask me how I know this. Been there done that......
