I would like to find one to be able finish a small batch of pigs in. I new a guy with one and it was really nice. He would just move the unit its own length each time it was empty between batches of pigs. Clean up was simple. Could a guy get one and farrow a few sows in one end, and finish 8-12 pigs in the other? Feeder pig market is always good here in the late winter-early spring, then it hard to move them. I would like to farrow 2-4 sows , sell what I can, then finish a few. Butcher the sows, keep back 2-3 replacements. This way I over winter only the bred gilts. Maybe a boar. I love raising pigs, but with the margins so small I have to target the spring market and be able to have little money on the table to possibly loose. If I build a small cement n Stick barn I dont think I could live long enough to recover the investment. I am just hoping to find a simple inexpensive way to enjoy some pigs without major risk.
