I too bought a 4020 LP not knowing much about them.
The first thing I didn't know was that those little holes on the side of the cylinders are "weep holes" and are designed to tell you when your "wet sleeve cylinder seals are leaking, only to find out that on my newly purchased $5,000, 25 year old tractor, the PO or his rep, put the black Oring where the Orange one went and vise versa causing them to prematurely leak. If the drip is water your uppers are leaking, if oil, your lowers are leaking. $2000 and a lot of work later since the PO had also ruined the compression and bottom end too.........
Second thing I learned was that LP and 100F weather don't like each other.
Third, LP vs Diesel is a waste of fuel dollars.
Fourth thing I learned was sitting behind an LP 400 cu in engine is HOT, especially on a 100 degree day.
Fifth thing I learned was regulators are finicky and getting replacements/parts is not all that easy.
The sixth thing I learned was that the sooner I could run from this thing the happier I would be!

How did I get this way? I came from the suburbs and own a small horse farm in rural Loudoun County, Virginia. You can call me a "weekend farmer." The local farmers do. Does it bother me? No. I am just happy to have their friendship. At least the word "farmer" is in my title. But what is the attraction? How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
