If this is a dual clutch, yes there is a clearance adjustment between the secondary pressure plate and the bolt heads. The clearance is .090" for the early models, better verify that for yours.
There is also a setting for the release fingers, but typically they are pre set close enough to work. If you don't have the tool, you can take some measurements using a straight edge across the bell housing, measure to the face of the release bearing, then measure the finger height from the engine flange. It takes some blocking and rigging to get a good measurement. What you don't want is the fingers riding on the release bearing when it is adjusted all the way back. Also the bolts all need to be the same height.
With a dual clutch, it is essential to use an alignment tool to get the discs in the center of the pressure plate. Stabbing a dual clutch is a monster, even when everything is right!
