Bill, I couldn't agree with you more. Why do the new pickups, even the half ton 2WD ones, have to be so ridiculously tall? I know the truck manufacturers are all trying to outdo each other with the most manly, brawny, tough-guy, unstoppable ginormous monstrosities, but if they get any taller and more bulky, they will be right up there with Peterbilts and Kenworths. Whatever the fad is called, it's not for me. Make them reasonably sized again. Makes me appreciate my beater 1971 International 1/2 ton with 304 and 4-speed and 8' bed. The top of the sides in the rear is just under 48 inches! Perfect height to lean on to chat with somebody holding a cold drink. I can reach into the bed almost to the center. Yet this truck will haul a lot.
