Yes, Ross, snowmobiling. There have been a few drier years down here in the far Southern Lower that have made the trek West through Chicago and up to the western UP the best option. Liked our stays at Bruce's Crossing or Lake Gogebic. Stayed in Houghton to ride to Copper Harbor. Usually, we just cross the Bridge and stay with our Native friends in St Ignace.(The last few years we have barely managed trips to Wolf Lake, if at all.) :(
I can heartily recommend the trip to South Manitou Island off of Leland. I think it is only like 11 miles off the coast and far less driving for you guys to have the island experience. Of course, it ain't no Isle Royale...but what is?
