Had a VW Rabbit diesel, the book said you could use up to 25% reg gas in the winter to keep fuel from gelling, in a pinch one time I had to use gas to get to a station where I could get diesel, it ran noisey but did ok, too much gas isn't good for the pump either, no lubricity.:
