I have been looking for an ac/dc welder for quite awhile to replace my ac Forney and finally bought a dialarc for the shop. I use my mig quite a bit but wanted dc for 7018 and for welding positions other than horizontal. I also use a stick welder for heavy steel,nickel and non-machinable cast rods for machinery and TRACTOR repairs. I am going to try to get a book for it but was wondering when does a person use straight or reverse polarity on the dc side?
