the grass seed attachment is no longer available from Deere, unless you buy all the individual parts. I upgraded drills a few years ago (to a bigger 750) and the new one did not have grass seed. So I bought the half speed gear kit from Deere, and installed that for seeding alfalfa etc with the big hopper. It works great- accurate, and no filling the little hopper every 3 acres or so. A setting of 7 is about 15 lb per acre for alfafla with the slow speed gears.
