This not for a huge shop, as our shop used to be an old fashioned hog-house.
My husband built a 3/4" chipboard inner-door for the south side of our shop... with a cut-out up high in the door, that holds a 10K BTU window A/C. It works great! (He didn't even put it in this summer though - stayed fairly cool and rainy here much of the time.)
When we do use it, we close all the inner doors which have plexi-glass covered cut-outs, to let the light in/keep the heat and humidity out when we do run the A/C.
