: Fred, The repleys about the W6 ring gear and pinion speeding up the ground speed is correct, and the parts will intterchange. Ther is an advantage to faster ground speeds if you have the H.P. to run these gears. A lot of people in my pulling area did this when most of the rules were low gear only, but now that they have put ground speed limits on most antique classes ( speeed signal limiters) the need to do this is not so popular.
