I had just bought my farm but hadn'y built on it yet. I had a camper there to stay on weekends(Son & I).
Last day of deer season, the deer we got that weekend we had already cut up, processed and packaged and put on ice in coolers so they were ready to freeze when we got back home. Left the farm after dark to return home. Came over a hill andin the straight stretch were flashing bue lights. Game Wardens had roadblock looking for illegally harvested deer.
Game Warden came to my truck and shined a light in the bed of truck. He saw a bottle of booze in one of my totes and went nuts. Pulled his gun and asked if I had been drinking. I replied I don't drink and drive. He ordered me out of truck and gave me several sobriety tests. Told me to get back in truck. I did. Then he started inspecting my coolers and found the iced doen deer meat. He came back and asked for my hunting license. I told him I owned the land where the deer were taken and did not need one. He said"I don't believe you" and wrote me up for 'possession of an Illegally harvested deer and poaching. Gave me the ticket and I left.
Anyway, went to court judge read charges and asked my side. I explained that I own the land and provided copy of deed. case was dismissed.
