I've done it twice. First time I slid through a red light in a snowstorm. I thought I had a good case so I went to court. Day of court the ticketing officer was no show and the judge dismissed it. Second time I slid into the ditch on ice and got a ticket from a mean cop cause I didn't respect her enough I guess. She gave me a catch all ticket "failure to use due care". I was going to fight it if only to have it on court record what an awful jerk the cop was. The DA just scoffed at me. Told me he beat people like me everyday for a living. But I kept telling him I had a right to face my accuser in court and I was determined to exercise that right. He finally got tired of me and said if I pleaded guilty to driving 64 in a 55 zone and paid the fine - $125 - there would be no points on my record. Half a loaf is better than nothing so I took it.
