About the best I have ever heard in this area was right around 30 tons per acre. But that is unusual. Don't hear of it very often. Everything has to be about perfect to get that. One of our renters last year had a field that I doubt went five tons per acre. The guy that normally bought the crop from him took one look and said, "No thanks". Took him quite a while to sell it. Expect he lost his butt on it too. New renter this year. Much better corn. Haven't talked with him. Don't know if he will chop it or combine it. Normally he combines the corn he plants on our property.
