I have an old ugly International Harvester 3414 backhoe-loader. I think it has a 3120 hoe on it. I don't know the weight but I assume it's around 10,000 lbs. Seems to be around the same size as my Deere 300B. It has real bad tires that are also mis-matched. Has a 4-ply 14.9-24" on one side and 13.6-28" tire and wheel on the other (probably off a farm tractor).
I just picked up a new 13.6-24" tire in 8 ply at a yard sale for $75. I'm temped to buy another so they match and stick them on the back of the hoe. I think the OEM size is supposed to be 14.9-24" Anybody think these tires are too small to handle the load? They are supposed to be rated around 3000 lbs. each so that's 6000 lbs. total for the rear. I have no idea how much weight is really on those back tires considering there is a backhoe hanging off the back. I'm being cheap and do not want to buy the correct R4 tires new for this old beater that never leaves home.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
