Wow, What dealer was that? Were they across the street from Sloan?
Last Auction up in Dodgeville, Ol' Bill musta been off his meds. His truck is always the slower truck selling, and the second truck gets ahead and has to stop and wait a lot. At the end of the second row, the truck got about 5 pieces ahead. Over the intercom, Bill told the truck not to get ahead again. Well, on the third row the second truck moved ahead about two pieces and the auctioneer told the driver to stop. He hadn't so much as said it, when Bill got on the intercom again, and told the truck that he was gonna fire the whole lot of them if they so much as moved!
When I was 16, I listened to Bill cuss out a guy who might or might not have walked away from having the top bid on a skid steer. He called him all sorts of things that would make a sailor blush, right over the intercom. Then he took his bidder card and tore it up, threw it in his face, and told him never to come back!
I also listened to Jeff in Fennimore rant about how he was gonna light a 4430 on fire for the insurance money if he didn't get more money over the intercom at his consignment sale a couple years back. Worst is, it worked. He got 2000 more. It was an ugly old beast - missing door and back window, fenders looked like they would fall off if you touched them. I'll admit it sounded good.
