I have seen more and more simms pumps with stuck plungers. Common problem with the new ultra low sulfur / bio diesel we use. Safest way to fix this issue is similar to the repair for a rotary pump. Pull it off and have someone REPUTABLE reseal it. Simple reseal of a Simms Minamac should run 400-450. Anymore than that you are getting taken for a ride. ALWAYS have the return springs changed while apart. This adds about 30-40 bucks, but is money well spent. If this pump had its oil changed like it should the gov. assembly can be reused. If it was run dry, or with water in it replace it. This will add about 80 more bucks. I rarely see one cost much more than about 600-650. Call around and ask questions. real high , or low prices are a give away something is wrong. Check on warranties also. Mine are for 1 year, other shops will very, but it all matters. I see a fair amount of these pumps and would bee glad to help you out if you don't find someone in your area you feel comfortable with. Good luck Al 231/757/0064
