About 6 years ago dad and I drove about 2 hours away to go look at a forage harvested advertised in good shape, and the few pictures looked good. Made arrangements to meet the guy at a certain time and he gave us directions. We found it and we're a bit early, so I didn't worry about him not being there yet. Here it was on a trailer parked in a ditch, and by the looks of it had been there all summer.

It had a flat tire, worn chains and belts, and just really want add it was represented. At this tone our was a good 1/2 hour after we agreed to meet, and he still wasn't there. I called him up, and he says he's on his way, but he's still an hour out! Asked me if we were going to take it, and I just laid it out for him. Said the machine was in no way field ready and needed more work than what we were trying to replace. He still asked, and I told him no, as we only came with my car to check it out, instead of showing up ready to pull it home. At that point he got upset with me and started complaining. I forget what I told him but we agreed to disagree and we drove home.

On the way home dad disagreed with my GPS on how to get home, so we got really lost. I got my payback on him though. We were in my VW, and on really winding twisting roads. By the time we found a highway, he was green and ready to get out. He never questioned me again while driving.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
