Since finishing my wood cutting for the year, I cleaned and reorganized my shop earlier this week. I dug an old NH running gear from my stash that I pulled from a hedgrow several years back. The hyd dump trailer that I used to transport firewood down from the woods was a bit small to suit me, and I spent a lot of time stacking wood on it so that I could bring home a full cord of wood each trip. I have started building a bigger and better flare side 4 wheel wagon with hyd dump that I won't have to stack wood in. the new one will be 10' long, 3' longer than the single axle trailer that I built last year. Got the gear in the shop and straightened the dual rails on it and reassembled it with an 8'OC wheel base. I salvaged several Kubota tractor shipping crates. Took one and extended it to 10' and cut off all the struts that secured the tractor to it during shipping. It will make a solid base for the dump body. The gear was equipped with 14" wheels and airplane tires. Can't find any 14" car tires anymore, and 15s are getting hard to find also. May bite the bullet and buy new 16" wheels and mount used PU tires that are plentiful at no cost. Just a few preminary pics. in the early stages of the build. I have several more crates with a lot of 2"x2" steel tubeing which I will cut apart to make the 12 struts to support the flare sides. Stay tuned. This is one of a couple winter projects, that I have planned. Sorry for the double pic.

I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
