Being we had a real dry year everyone here is short on hay. I took on haying parts of 2 farms. Of course they wait till the end of August and September respectively to decide they need haying done. In both cases the fields are so rough it isn't funny. The first place, the guy never told he practiced plowing out in the fields he wants hayed. And, he "plowed in a circle". Doesn't matter what direction you go, there's furrows running every which way. Nothing like seeing dirt going through the haybine! Does a real good job dulling your sections. The other place was a pasture they want to plow, but they want the hay off it first. Broke the bearings right out of a haybine wheel. And that was with me going ridiculously slow. Of course it's gorgeous hay and I can't stop trying to get it in.
