Had a great evening out at the farm fishing with one of the grandkids on a super nice afternoon:
But got pulled over by the local cops on the way back home (across the border into Texas).
They let me off for a taillight out, but gave me a ticket for expired license plates...
At first I didn't question him or the ticket, but then it dawned on me, the pickup was still registered in Oklahoma since it is out at the farm most of the time, even though I live across the border 12 miles into Texas. It really seemed to throw the cop (a young guy) as he was leaving when I asked why would the local Texas judge care about an Oklahoma tag infraction.
So my question is - can a local Texas city copy give a ticket for an expired out-of-state Oklahoma plate?? (we also have a house in Oklahoma, so it is not like we are flaunting the law with out-of-state plates)

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
