I think you are confusing the terms restored and repainted ? If truly restored and put up for resale you will not get out of it what you have into it. Sounds more like it should be sold as a repainted unit. If it runs good and makes proper power why open it up ? The other guy ran it without issue it seems ?
I don't intend to offend you or be mean but seriously now if you do not know what plastigage is you really should not make this your first engine rebuild. Maybe your from another area it they call it something else ?
