BUT PLEASE DON't ,..youy may not be able to handle the overwhelming strain of getting everything perfectly back together and running ,.for those without trained experience in overhauling a engine .it is worse than trying to put chit back in a horse,.. abnd the guy thar gets the job after you give up ande quit will feel exactly thAT WAY ,..500 hours since overhaul ,..with a lousey service recordthese motors could easily run 5000 houtrs ,,, my 4020had over 8000 hours when it was traded and the dealer overhauled the motor for a better sale ,it really did not need to be done , YOU NEED TO KBOW ,these engines will use a guart of oil per day of heavy field work BRAND NEW and EVERY working day THEREAFTER , some owners boast of 15,000, hours on a 4020 , that has had good care and service ,,. the very same thing can be said for any of the other makes that size ,,. no you should not open that motor,../ a fool andhis money are soon departed ..//and I mean that kindly
