I partially give up. I have a 7700 Ford tractor. The idler pulley broke. I went to TSC got new bearing put it all together and was feeling pretty good. It is held on bracket by a retaining ring.
Part of the bearing was stuck on the shaft. I got it off with a grinder and was still doing pretty good didn't get into shaft so far so good. Then I tried to put the pulley back on the shaft. It would not go. I tried cleaning up top of shaft. Still would not go. Bearing was 5/8". Then I got aggravated and more aggressive until I messed up the shaft. I think I can remove the shaft assembly and replace it if I knew what it is called. It is welded to the bracket. Main question is it referred to as shaft, stud, bolt or what. I know that is what happens when you loose patients. Should have walked away. New bracket is 129-287 dollars.
