I have a 1990 Dodge Ram 250 with a spare tire mounted under the bed by the tailgate. This thing is a bear and half to get in and out. There is no ratchet device as on some newer models. What's more, I pulled it off today and there were marks on the tire where it rubbed the frame. I am hesitant to air it up all the way.
Short of this is, how do yo mount under the bed so it is not so difficult to put in and take out and so it doesn't damage the tire? Is in the bed the only way to go?
