I am not sure why you are crediting "GMOs",Ben. I would be more inclined to credit modern plant breeding. High yields and drought tolerance are not currently a result of gene insertion. Herbicide and/or insect resistance do not,by themselves, result in higher yields. I had a non GMO variety in my side by side test plot that ran right with the GMO varieties, while costing over$100./unit less. We are seeing yields similar to yours here south of London, Ontario. There is an old saying"a dry year will scare you, a wet year will starve you". I have observed the same over the years.I would far rather be too dry than too wet. Now, what Niagara area and western New York experienced this year was severe drought where that saying does not hold true!
