I like many Farmers and Ranchers alike do things by myself,, I just did a "set-back" of a set of swinging gates yesterday, a first for me,, I think it turned out pretty nice,, the County had built this new by-pass road about 4 years ago,, the contractor who installed the fence did a shoddy job to say the least,, they claimed to have set the corner and gate posts 4' deep,, Yea Right, more like 2 1/2 feet at best,, they were leaning after less than a week,, the gate posts I set are 10 1/2 feet long 9" plus posts,, they are just over four feet deep,, and all hand tamped rather than drove in,, only way to set posts like this in my mind,, anyway this will let us get off the busy roadway to open the gates we have had a few close calls already, I moved the gates in 32 feet by the way cnt
