A-C Model C Engine

I have aquired another AC,but, ya but, there are hair line cracks in the block between the cylinder sleeves. I can not remember for sure, but I thought I read somewhere that this was ok. Am I remembering right or is the ol thinker starting to go bad? Thanks for the input.
