Hello this is my first post out of desperation. First of all I am not a mechanic by trade but am trying to take a crack at fixing my 1985 For 4610 diesel tractor. I let is sit over the summer and come to find out the mud wasps made a nest around my ignition switch and the only way I could get it to start was trip the solenoid with a screw driver touching the hot lead nut and the connector which terminates the ignition switch wire. I assume since I can "hot wire" it the solenoid and starter are fine. I replaced the ignition switch and it sporadically started a few times but now nothing. At half click the lights would turn on initially but it was weird, they were delayed like 3-4 seconds. Now nothing.....I even ran a direct wire from the ignition switch to the solenoid but nothing. I tested the hot lead to the ignition and get 12v. The accessory lights come on at half click but then go out when I try to turn it over. None of this makes sense to me and was hoping someone might have some recommendations. I greatly appreciate it! :D
