I agree with the Credit Unions; BUT... even they are starting to charge fees! I had a checking account with one that sent me a survey in the mail, & then sent a letter & said "Based on the Survey results we are going to make exciting changes based on the survey!" The changes were fees going from $0 to $6 per month for my checking account, & no new Fixed Rate Credit Cards! They have done everything they can think of to get me to change my credit card to a Variable rate card. I changed the checking to another Credit Union with $0 in fees. The Credit card will remain as long as I have no fees on it! I still have a savings account with them too; but only because its required to have the Credit Card. Still at 8.9% the new Credit Union is 9.9%.
