I agree with you . Ever notice how you just seem to act and feel differently when you are dressed nicer ? It seems to elevate my mood and manner anyway . And I am a mechanic and farmer , so I do know how to get dirty ! I have no issue with people in their work clothes out and about, but raggedy old sweat pants and slippers to a social function or shopping is just lazy and slob-ish. I took an Alaskan Cruise about 10 years ago, and it was full of foreign people from all over. Those folks were all dressed nicely and seemed polite, while the Americans wore crap with lots of big bellies hanging out and acting entitled . I remember feeling a little ashamed for them.
