I must live in a different world. I go a lot of different places and people offer to open the door or let me go before them in a checkout line. But, I agree that there are a lot of rude people around. I raised 3 kids and it makes me very happy when people in my neighborhood tell me how polite and delightful my kids are. By the way my kids are 24-26-and 27. Raised in a semi-strict home where they had farm chores. Plus as they got older they had their own animals to take care of besides the other chores that had to be done. We have a lot of young families in our neighborhood and for the most part they are all very nice to be around. But, then most of us know each other or know of the families in our neck of the woods. When I run into a rude person, I politely ask them if they were born that or did they learn to be rude and impolite. Gets me the deer in the headlight look.
