Found this fella's college study on tractor stability while wondering around the web. This is neat! Did it with five different tractors, a Ford 8N, a Ford 800, a John Deer A, and two Farmall M's, tricycle and 4 wheel. The study is rolling onto the back, and rolling onto the side from simply tip angle and also from dynamic cases like flying down the hill and turning. It certainly doesn't cover all the variables, but it sure is a neat thing to look at, for the pictures if nothing else. For whatever reason, it won't display in my Netscape, but it does in MS Explorer. If you hate MS Explorer, you could probably just e-mail this guy about it and get your own copy. I phoned him and he was stunned and excited that someone actually found it and was interested. I've no vested interest in this person, or his study (other then my own health). Just thought I'd bring it up as a great thing to learn from and about.
