A friend of mine had one, the engine is a Ford 1.6L gas (some 1971-72 Ford Pinto's came with that engine). I have a 743B, and its very similar the 642 except the 743B I have has a Kubota 4 cyl diesel. My friends 642 worked pretty good for it being gas. $7300 is not a bad price, looks like it wasn't abused at all (not all beat up like my friends 642 is). The 642, and the 743B like I have wouldn't be too hard to repower. I have another 743B with a bad engine, and I have been thinking about putting a Perkins AD3.152 from a old MF135.
