First Christmas with present wife I contacted guy from tree farm . Made arrangements to cut tree at pick your own farm. Paid, said I'l get later this week. Told wife time to honor my Christmas tradition of stealing tree. She though I was kidding till with chain saw in tow we drove around, found couple cut your own. I said no too many people around, went to prearranged place. Knew he would not be around till later. Carefully selected tree, cut threw in truck, took off. She pointed out box to pay was clearly visible. Nope got to steal it , old family tradition. She did not find out truth till months later when we happened to be having coffee at local cafe and tree guy came in sat at group table. He said hey your tree was ok. Wife face was so red till he started laughing at her. We confessed the tree was all prearranged.
