Well you can buy one that is hand start and then 20 years from now you will wish if had a starter on it or that you would never get old. If I where you I'd get one that has it own starter and then if you do not want to start it that way you can use the hand crank but I know for sure if you keep it very long you will soon find you wished it had a starter on it
