They are pretty good ole trucks. The early modular engines had issues spitting out spark plugs but most have been fixed by now. There was also issues with exhaust manifold studs breaking which is a labortion extensive repair. LI stem for exhaust leaks and look for holes where there should be studs n nuts. 14 mpg?? Not in my experiance. 11-12 empty and light foot. 9-10 loaded and down from.there with heavy right foot.
