The big thing is what is your objectives? Move to different place every day and cover as much ground as you can? Or to someplace you like to go to and stay for a few days, tractor show, horse show, music festival, very big several day one close to me that draws people in for a thousand miles or more, no I have never gone. But if your destination is something like these examples then a camper is the only way to go. Then like when my wife was living and going to see my stepson then it was motel on way for days visit and again different motel part way back. So it depends on what your object is. We liked to go to a tractor show 170 mile away, used to be able to get a motel room in the small town, not any more cheap place but still foe 3 nights cost more than trailer expences and then leaving at 10:00 at night to drive across town a hastle to be back at 9:00 in morning. Last time we were able to go before she passed stayed at a B&B a few miles outside of town (truck & trailer were not up to trip) Only was able to stay for one night and 2 part of days instead of the 5 days I would have liked to stay. Still cost as much as using truck ant camper. So it all comes down to what you are wanting to do. Took it after tempery repairs this year for all 5 days at show. Would have had to drive 50 mile from show each night to get to motel plus mack again in morning and more expencive to eat that way. So it all comes down to what you are looking for and to do. And my camper is a 89 24' bumper pull with no slide out or air, The old one that is setting here falling apart is a 78 20' of same style but did not have comfortable beds. Usually stoped at truck stop midway and filled yo and used restroom. And station easy to get to in town to fill up before leaving. Want to patch up the old camper to make the trip again this year.
